Competitive Placement

BETTER INFORMATION. BETTER MATCHUPS.

Pigskin's historical materials describe age as the first bracketing factor while allowing competitive circumstances and team objectives to inform placement.

Age Comes First

Historical tournament FAQ material states that brackets are formed first by age. Current 2026 age divisions should be confirmed before a team relies on a specific division.

Competitive Context Matters

A championship-level team and a community team can have very different reasons for traveling. Pigskin has historically considered special circumstances and encouraged coaches to communicate information that helps tournament staff understand the team.

Why Team Information Matters

Useful context can include team type, age group, recent competitive results, roster background and what the organization wants from the weekend. Earlier, clearer information gives tournament staff more context for placement.

Gold, Silver and Bronze Recognition

Historically, Pigskin has used Gold, Silver and Bronze recognition so teams remain engaged and have something meaningful to play for. Final 2026 bracket and advancement procedures should be confirmed in the current rules.
